Inspiration

Our inspiration for "Deep Sea Detective" stemmed from the desire to merge cutting-edge technologies in AI, quantum computing, and geospatial mapping to advance marine biology. We aimed to create a tool that not only identifies underwater species with unprecedented accuracy but also educates and engages users about marine life and their habitats.

What it does

"Deep Sea Detective" employs a sophisticated blend of ResNet-50, Inception Net, and Quantum Convolutional Neural Networks (QCNN) for accurate classification of underwater animals. It integrates quantum computing to analyze complex patterns that traditional algorithms might miss. Furthermore, the system includes a GPT-2 powered chatbot for interactive species information and utilizes mapping technology to display geographical distributions of identified species.

How we built it

We developed the system using a layered approach:

Deep Learning Framework: Utilized ResNet-50 and Inception Net for foundational image recognition. Quantum Enhancement: Integrated QCNN layers to process qubits, enhancing pattern recognition capabilities. Chatbot Integration: Implemented a GPT-2 based chatbot for dynamic user interaction and species information. Mapping Technology: Employed CNNs for processing geospatial data, displaying species distribution on maps. Web Development: Combined JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for an accessible and user-friendly web interface.

Challenges we ran into

Integrating quantum computing layers with classical neural networks was technically challenging. Ensuring the accuracy of species classification across a wide variety of underwater environments. Balancing system complexity with user accessibility in the web interface.
