Inspiration
Over the past two decades, insurance prices, particularly housing insurance prices have surged by over 74% after adjusting for inflation.
What it does
A Harvard study confirms this sharp increase, and the value keeps on increasing. And it's not just house insurance prices, its similar for auto, health and other insurances. This trend makes many people wondering, "Why did my insurance go up randomly" . Worse still, more than 500,000 Canadians do not have any sort of insurance. Deducto helps people find affordable coverage and guides them so that they get the best possible insurance plan.
How we built it
We built Deducto using React with a Node.js backend. We also integrated Framer Motion to bring a clean, animated user experience to life.
Challenges we ran into
Our team started with minimal experience in React, so learning how to structure the app and pass data effectively was a major hurdle. Additionally, interpreting insurance data and presenting it in a clear way proved more complex than expected.
