DeCo - Decentralized Collaboration is born out of the desire to revolutionize project outsourcing and collaboration in the era of Web3 and decentralized technologies. The inspiration behind DeCo lies in addressing several key challenges:

  1. The growing demand for decentralized and open-source project development is surging, driven by the adoption of Web3 technologies. Foundations, companies, and project teams seek an accessible platform to efficiently outsource projects to the right freelancers while managing project milestones seamlessly.
  2. The rise of the DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) model in the blockchain space has opened the floodgates for contributions, but the tools to manage this decentralized workforce efficiently and fairly are lacking. Billions of dollars flow through DAOs, yet the process remains manual, creating inefficiencies and hindering developer participation.
  3. In the era of Web2 and Web3, the shift towards remote work and freelancing has become the new norm. Companies and project teams need a platform that can efficiently manage developers and team performance in this remote and decentralized landscape.

Freelancers, especially Web2 and Web3 developers, seek a trustless platform where they can easily find opportunities to contribute their skills and collaborate on projects, enabling them to earn more and access a broader range of opportunities. #### What it does DeCo is a game-changing platform designed to meet these challenges head-on:

Freelancer Collaboration: Freelancers can easily discover opportunities and collaborate seamlessly on projects, creating a transparent and trustless environment for remote and decentralized work. #### How we built it DeCo is the result of a dedicated team of innovators and blockchain enthusiasts who came together to create a solution for the challenges of Web3 and decentralized collaboration. We leveraged cutting-edge technology like Rust, Near SDK, Nextjs, Golang, and user-friendly interfaces to build a platform that streamlines every aspect of project outsourcing and collaboration. Our development process was guided by agile and continuous improvement. We ensured that every feature and component of DeCo aligns with the evolving needs of Web3 projects and the growing community of freelancers and contributors.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges during the project development process: Challenges related to handling disputes between the two parties, Employer and Freelancer. Challenges related to ensuring project transparency.

  1. Parent task (mega task) tokenomic: Some tasks are quite large, necessitating their division into smaller subtasks. Therefore, we need to prepare the contract to ensure that the allocation of resources to each task is appropriate.
  2. Scalability: As the project gained momentum, the team faced challenges related to scaling the platform to accommodate a growing user base while maintaining high performance.
  3. User Experience: Balancing the intricacies of blockchain technology with a user-friendly interface was a constant challenge. The team strived to create a platform that felt familiar yet leveraged the power of decentralization.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • We have successfully created a MVP platform that bridges the gap between project owners and freelancers, fostering collaboration and innovation on a global scale.
  • DeCo's integration with blockchain technology ensures trust and transparency in all interactions, from project assignments to payments, making it a trustworthy platform for all stakeholders.
  • We have designed DeCo to adapt to the dynamic landscape of Web3, making it future-proof and ready to support the mass adoption of decentralized technologies.

What we learned

  • Our journey in building DeCo has taught us the immense potential of decentralized collaboration. We've learned that the power of blockchain can truly transform the way projects are executed. We've also gained insights into the evolving needs of the Web3 community and the importance of adaptability and scalability in our platform.
  • We've also learned how to implement Dapp with Near SDK, and how to build a system that memory safety, performance. With Rust, we developed a secure and efficient smart contracts on the Near blockchain platform. It empowers us to build decentralized applications with confidence in our code's reliability and security.

What's next for DeCo - Decentralized Collaboration

The journey of DeCo is far from over. Our roadmap includes:

  • Continuous improvement: We are committed to refining and expanding our platform's features to cater to the ever-changing needs of the Web3 ecosystem.
