Inspiration

Founders, students, and product teams often spend 10+ hours formatting slides, picking color palettes, and arranging content instead of refining their core ideas and narrative. Rigid, generic presentation templates are hard to customize under tight hackathon or fundraising deadlines. We wanted to build a frictionless tool that converts raw project ideas into structured, professional presentation decks in seconds.

What it does

DeckGen AI is an AI-first pitch deck generator designed to streamline presentation creation:

Text-to-Deck Conversion: Translates short project descriptions into complete, structured slide outlines.

Custom Control Panel: Allows users to dynamically set the target audience (e.g., Investors & VCs), presentation length (e.g., 4, 8, or 10 slides), and narrative tone (Pitch, Professional, Creative).

Interactive Slide Viewer: Features slick slide-by-slide navigation, visual hierarchy, and actionable Key Takeaways for every slide.

Frictionless Export: Enables instant outline copying or direct export options for quick team sharing.

How we built it

Frontend Framework: Built with Next.js (App Router) and React for fast rendering and high performance.

Styling & UI: Styled using Tailwind CSS for a clean, SaaS-grade dark theme, paired with Lucide Icons for modern visual components.

Language: Written in TypeScript to ensure strict type safety and code reliability.

Challenges we ran into

UI/UX Consistency: Designing an interactive presentation viewer inside a web interface that feels as smooth and responsive as native slide software.
