Inspiration
We wanted an easier way to keep up with campus life. There are always classes, club events, sports games, meetings, and activities to attend, but it's impossible to juggle the multiple calendars without missing opportunities.
What it does
DeckIt automatically gathers events form university sources, as well as any website the user is interested in, uses AI to clean and format them, and lets users swipe through a "deck" to add what they like to their calendar.
How we built it
We used Python with Requests and BeautifulSoup for scraping, and used OpenRouter to access Googles Gemini 2.5 LLM.
Challenges we ran into
There were some issues with hosting the web app. We also found it challenging to integrate the raspberry pi and cloud database

We got the chance to discover new tools and collaborate together in a team.
What we learned
Hackathons are all about running into problems and finding solutions.
What's next for Deck It
We would like to completely host this on a web server and integrate touch displays, gesture sensors etc.
