I'm neurodivergent and my task list often feel overwhelming. I spend a lot of time figuring out what is important and where to start, and my anxiety and shame goes through the roof when I spend energy and time 'not doing'. I made this app for myself and others with brains like mine to reduce the overwhelm, help me move forward, and feel encouragement rather than shame.
The app parses your speech or text into concrete tasks, suggests priority levels for each, and then puts them into a decision wheel that the user can spin. The wheel can be toggled between high priority only tasks or all tasks. When spun, the wheel chooses a task from the list, and then the user chooses the amount of time they want to work on the task. then the timer begins so the user can focus for the alloted time, with an encouraging animation to keep them going. when the task is done, there is a celebration and then back to the wheel. when all tasks are done, there is a surprise reward animation.
I used lovable to vibe code the app. I also used Chatgpt to help create the prompts and code for lovable.
The biggest challenge was balancing simplicity with support. Neurodivergent users need clarity, not clutter, so I had to resist adding too many features and instead design a flow that reduces friction at every step. Lovable also needed a lot of guidance.
I'm proud of the wheel concept and making this encouraging instead of adding pressure and shame, like other productivity apps.
Learned to vibe code and that asking lovable what to do is a great way to collaborate.
What's next for Decision Roulette - An App to Overcome Decision Overwhelm
I'd like to expand features and add an engagement feature like collecting little brains each time you complete a wheel, to keep the user coming back and feeling motivated to engage. I'd also like to add metrics about how challenging tasks were so they can get info about their patterns.
