Inspiration
Many students and early-career professionals struggle with high-impact decisions such as career choices, internships, higher studies, skill development, relocation, and startup opportunities.
Most people rely on scattered advice from social media, friends, or random online opinions. We wanted to create a system that provides structured, balanced, and practical decision analysis using AI.
That idea led to Decision Compass.
What it does
Decision Compass is an AI-powered decision analysis platform that helps users evaluate important life and career decisions through structured reasoning and risk analysis.
Users enter a decision they are facing, and the platform generates:
- decision summaries
- trade-off analysis
- option comparison
- long-term impact assessment
- risk evaluation
- confidence analysis
- actionable recommendations
The goal is not to replace human judgment, but to help users think more clearly and make more informed decisions.
How we built it
We used MeDo to rapidly design and iterate the entire product experience.
Using structured prompting, we generated:
- application architecture
- UI layouts
- component structures
- workflow logic
- responsive frontend design
- result analysis systems
- optimized user flows
The project was built using:
- Next.js
- Tailwind CSS
- TypeScript
- Framer Motion
The application was optimized for fast rendering, responsive layouts, and clean user experience.
How we used MeDo
We used MeDo as both a development accelerator and a product ideation tool.
Our workflow included:
- generating initial product concepts
- refining the UI into a professional product experience
- restructuring the platform from a futuristic concept into a realistic productivity tool
- improving performance and page structure
- generating reusable components and layouts
- optimizing content presentation and analysis flow
One of the most impressive things MeDo helped generate was the structured decision analysis interface, including:
- comparative option cards
- risk evaluation systems
- confidence metrics
- timeline-based reasoning
- recommendation summaries
MeDo also helped us rapidly iterate on product direction and user experience.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was balancing visual quality with performance.
Early versions were visually heavy and animation-focused, which negatively impacted loading speed and made the product feel less realistic.
We redesigned the experience into a cleaner and more professional decision-support platform with:
- lighter rendering
- faster loading
- reduced animation overhead
- simplified UI systems
- more practical recommendation logic
Another challenge was making AI-generated analysis feel useful and trustworthy rather than generic.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Building a complete AI-powered decision analysis platform
- Creating a professional and realistic user experience
- Designing a structured recommendation system instead of a simple chatbot
- Optimizing performance while maintaining premium UI quality
- Rapidly iterating the product direction using MeDo
What we learned
We learned that strong AI products require:
- clear structure
- focused UX
- practical outputs
- fast iteration
- balanced visual design
We also learned how effective structured prompting can be when building complete product systems with AI-assisted development tools.
What's next for Decision Compass
Future plans include:
- personalized decision memory
- deeper long-term scenario analysis
- collaborative decision reviews
- calendar and productivity integrations
- AI-generated action plans
- smarter contextual recommendations
- mobile application support
