I was inspired to do this project by math because math is my strong strong subject, in which I can create a calculator with C++ coding.
What this project does is it is a calculator that converts a decimal to binary, octal, or hexadecimal, converting binary, octal, and hexadecimal to decimal, converting binary to octal, and hexadecimal, converting octal to binary and hexadecimal and converting hexadecimal to binary and octal.
How I built this project was with C++. I made 6 functions to convert the number into the desired result and I coded the input to ask the user for the input such as inputting the number and choice.
The challenge that I ran into was coding the functions because it took a while for me to figure out how to code the math of converting the number into the desired result.
The accomplishment that I'm proud of is being able to make the calculator work and give out the correct result.
What I learned from this project is by taking advantage of the functions that I have and reusing them for other calculations such as converting binary to octal or hexadecimal, converting octal to binary and hexadecimal, and converting hexadecimal to binary and octal.
What is next for this project is to add the validity of the input to check if the input is valid or invalid.
