I have been interested in decentralized technologies and passionate about digital privacy for years. After learning about Sia's open-source Renterd platform for decentralized cloud storage using blockchain, I was inspired to create an educational video series to teach others. What it does
it's a one-stop resource. I break down the basics, guiding you from understanding the concept to hands-on applications. This video course teaches viewers:

How we built it
I started by understanding decentralized storage and how Sia works. Then, I made videos showing how to use Renterd, the Sia platform. I covered storing files, faucet, and Sia Zen testnet transactions. Exploring S3, Rclone, and Renterd's API, I simplified their use. Our video tutorials explain both theory and practical steps, making it easy for everyone to learn about decentralized storage.
Challenges we ran into
Simplifying complex concepts like S3 integration and erasure coding posed some challenges. But overcoming these challenges helped me create content that strikes the right balance between technical depth and accessibility.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm proud to have developed a resource that provides valuable insights into decentralized storage. Renterd, Real-world applications like S3 integration and Rclone usage add a practical touch to the theoretical knowledge that others can replicate from my videos. Viewers go from having no knowledge of Renterd and Sia to controlling their own storage in a decentralized way
What we learned
Creating this content, I learned a lot—from the basics of decentralized storage to how to set up and use the Renterd platform by Sia. Figuring out how to explain tricky things like S3 integration in simple terms, and a lot more, including what S3 integration and Rclone entail, and the features provided by Renterd.
