Inspiration
Imagine a world where everyone has secure, instant access to their own health data, and the ability to share that data with doctors, researchers, and insurance providers. This would empower individuals to take control of their own health and enable medical professionals to make more informed decisions.
What it does
The system creates a tamper-proof and secure way to store health data, as well as providing a means of authorization and access control. The technology enables the sharing of data in real-time, which can be beneficial for doctors and researchers to make more informed decisions, as well as for monitoring disease outbreaks. The blockchain technology also allows for interoperability and data can be used across institutions and organizations.
How we built it
We used solidity programming to program smart contracts (piece of self running code) , after which we deployed it on blockchain test network (Ethereum) . we integrated web3.js API for connecting frontend and backend through https request. Ether.js functionalities to get data from cryptocurrency wallet (MetaMask) to get the wallet address , which is used by the smart contracts for providing restricted authorization.
Challenges we ran into
Actually there are some instances where test network gets busy resulting in transactions getting delayed.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Learned team work , Working and successfully implementing unfamiliar technology within 24 hours time duration .
What we learned
Collaborating with a team and learning how to communicate and work effectively with others. Developed new technical skills by working on projects that used unfamiliar tools and technologies. Getting feedback on our work from industrial experts and learning how to iteratively improve upon the provided feedback. Learned on how to think creatively and innovatively to come up with unique solutions which can solve real world problems.
What's next for Decentralized medical data sharing - RuntimeException Team 1
We are planning to provide medical history to the family members of the accident victim in case of emergency for his further diagnosis. We are also planning to collaborate with insurance companies so as to execute cashless transactions for the treatment of accident victim.
