Decentralized Energy Xchange (DEX)

Inspiration

Inspired by the essential role of energy in our lives, we are developing a decentralized marketplace for energy trading. The American clean power sector recently demonstrated its massive potential, securing nearly $80 billion in investment and supporting 1.4 million jobs in 2024. Our project aims to connect people directly, enabling the buying and selling of energy—from small solar panel owners to large-scale entrepreneurs—in a trustless and decentralized way, eliminating the friction and costs associated with traditional middlemen.

What it does

Our decentralized marketplace enables users to buy and sell energy directly with one another.

How we built it

We built the marketplace is using react and has xrpl as the blockchain technology

Challenges we ran into

Despite being new to the distributed ledger technology space, this project successfully navigated complex initial development challenges. Specifically, we mastered the difficult process of achieving seamless connectivity between the cryptocurrency wallets/APIs and the frontend, a crucial step in delivering a robust user experience.

We take great pride in our project's success, which was achieved by mastering and integrating diverse new skills. Furthermore, the collaborative process led to the formation of valuable new professional relationships.
