Decentralized Drive

We are developing decentralized drive which is basically is clone of google drive but it works using smart contract and IPFS

Inspiration

as we know that google drive or any other cloud storage is centralized like the data can be manipulated by someone or hackers some time. so I think about decentralized drive which cannot be manipulated.

What it does

At this time the drive stores users files like pdfs, images, videos, or any other document. It authenticates the user using metamask means with use of his address

How we built it

I use React as frontend and truffle framework. also I use here IPFS as storage for storing our files. also I take help from internet to see how to use IPFS using web3.js.

Challenges we ran into

at the time building application I face many errors in to connect frontend and web3 code beacause i am backend dev so im shifting to frontend. also some challenges to react components

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  1. the first and foremost accomplishment is i successfully completed this project
  2. I learn a lot about IPFS so from that I inspiration for my next project which is in medical domain where i will use IPFS

What we learned

  3. How the web3 can change the world

What's next for Decentralized Drive

  1. File Sharing to address to address using Decentralized drive
  2. Other funtinalities like starred, bin , etc
