Team68_Decentralized Contact Tracing and Notification System

Our mobile app provides users with personalized information about how at risk they are of contracting COVID-19, based on the proximity of others around them, while retaining anonymity.

Comment

Our app uses the BLE (Bluetooth low energy) beacon functionality in smartphones to detect whether another phone with the app is within 3 meters distance, in which case both phones will exchange and record user IDs. If a user tests positive for COVID-19, he/she will notify the app, which will then send a push notification to all other phones on record in the past 2 weeks, urging their owners to be tested. The app will also update a public heat map detailing the places the affected user has visited in the past 2 weeks.
