Decentraland Scene Construction for Miami NFT Buildathon

Inspiration

The inspiration for this project came from attending the Miami NFT buildathon. This was a great experience that would make an amazing DCL quest. The team that put this event together is a great inspiration to the building community and should be celebrated, by having their own virtual space.

What it does

This scene takes you on a journey through the events at the Miami NFT Buildathon.
You start out in the (blue) building and register/check in, this action will trigger the Elevator platform to move allowing you access to the 2nd building. The 2nd building (Orange) is where you can select a session to further your knowledge, this action will trigger the elevator platform to the 3rd building (Green). In this building you will form your team and complete the build, this will trigger the elevator to the 4th building (Pink) the judges. In this last floor you will present your project to the judges, who will crown you victorious, granting you access to the Club. Use lever to gain access to the club. Wait, do you have money to get in the club? You better go collect some change!!! Side quest triggers, coins appear lead to a Poap.

Built using, Unity, DCL builder, Blender

Challenges we ran into

This was the 1st time building for Decentraland, so getting used to how to use the builder from scratch made the journey a bit more difficult. We we able to use the documentation in DCL, to assist along the way.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Even though it was a difficult journey, we were able to learn a new tool that can now be perfected and added to the arsenal.

What we learned

Every metaverse has different tools that seam impossible at first until you start messing around with them. There is so much to learn and with time we would have quality builds.

What's next for Decentraland Scene Construction for Miami NFT Buildathon

Keep expanding the interactions, replace the machines with avatars, you can have conversations with to advance to the next floor. Adding information regarding the different sessions, links, pictures, auto dance in club, Poap.
