Inspiration

I enjoy converting Web2 applications into Web3 and thus this time I started building a Web3 version of Spotify.

What it does

It allows people to listen to music in a decentralized manner. The Music gets stored on IPFS and is minted into an NFT via Polygon Smart contract and yeah people can listen via the links !!

How we built it

Built it using ReactJS and connecting Moralis to allow to fetch the smart contract. Wrote the solidity smart contract which takes in Metadata URI and then mints it as an NFT.

Challenges we ran into

Fetching and populating the music albums.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Getting it built and showcasing it in the hackathon.

What we learned

Easier ways to upload a lot of metadata on IPFS and connecting the Smartcontracts to the frontend.

What's next for Decentra Music

Getting more Musicians on Board and building a marketplace.
