Inspiration

As a creative writer in Africa, there are many story ideas that are left in the note apps without ever seeing the light f the day. The platform should helpfully showcase these stories from creative writers which can lead to income, wither through the option of self publishing on the platform or selling the rights to their stories.

What it does

How we built it

The app was generated by Marblism, which gave a basic boiler plate on what the expect.

Challenges we ran into

The first and major challenge that stalled the project was the inability of the opening the generated project on my localhost cloning the code. This meant that i was unable to log into the app except via the marblism app. On the other-hand, i didn't have enough marbles to do much from the browser. This generally impacted on the timeline i had to make changes to the website. Another challenge i encountered was the inability of integrating packages like bootstrap or tailwind with the code. Now this could be a fault of mine as this was my first time working with the pnpm package and so it could be because of that. Also the short time allocation meant that i had little time to do much changes to the code.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This opportunity is hopefully the beginning of creating a project that i am passionate about especially as it may solve some personal problems i encounter as a creative writer

What we learned

Il learnt that AI is a powerful tool. While there was too many components and folders in the generated code, it was relatively easy to understand what is gong on, especially on the Client side.

What's next for DeBra Stories

I will hopefully continue this as a side project. Its a passion project and one that i think will change the landscape for many creative writers in mNigeria and Africa in general.
