Inspiration

As an active Reddit user, I noticed how discussions often stay surface-level. I wanted to gamify debates to encourage deeper thinking and community engagement. Debate Dueler transforms Reddit posts into interactive games that reward strategic participation in community discussions.

What it does

Debate Dueler turns Reddit posts into multiplayer debate games with three scoring modes:

--Conformist: Score by matching popular opinions --Contrarian: Score by choosing unpopular answers --Trivia: Score by factual correctness Players answer time-pressured questions (multiple-choice or sequence) while competing on live leaderboards. Moderators create custom question decks from community content.

How we built it

Tech Stack: React 19, TypeScript, Express.js, Redis, Tailwind CSS, Devvit framework

Architecture:

-Client: React components with local storage for offline play -Server: Express backend with Redis for real-time data Devvit Web integration for native Reddit compatibility Built as an Interactive Post using familiar web technologies within Devvit's framework.
