Inspiration

Our inspiration for this idea came when one of our team members came to know about the tip system. The main idea behind the tip system was to safeguard the table service employees. We thought of expanding this system so that the society as a whole is safeguarded from an ever dangerous threat that is HUNGER

What it does

We have made a mobile app which acts as a portal for donations to food restaurants or hotels which goes as society tip. This society tip will be stored as a **society quota, which will be separate for every hotel. This society quota will be publicly view-able in our app. According to this Society quota , meals can be distributed. People in need of help can go to any hotel or ask anyone who has the app to know which hotel has sufficient Society quota to provide a one time meal. Another dimension to this app is that we can measure the popularity of the hotel using the Society quota. More people who have contributed to the society quota of this hotel means more popular it is. So if the hotel wants to increase their popularity , they can themselves put money in this , which will in turn help the ones in need. People donating money will earn points by which they can redeem some offers valid on hotels for some benefits.

How we built it

We built this app using Flutter which is a cross platform front end framework.

Challenges we ran into

As it was our first hackathon we faced some unexpected challenges like how to brainstorm the idea, finalise the design and develop in the given time frame. We learned how to manage and divide work, and how to effectively utilise our time. Flutter has been great yet challenging, where we faced challenges on how to develop in a fast and efficient way.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

As this is our first hackathon we are mainly proud of getting into the world of hackathons with an idea which can potentially help the society.

What we learned

We learned what exactly is an hackathon, how it is to part in a hackathon and we also got experience on brainstorming ideas which turn out to be very productive for the society. We learned a lot from this project and also from the various workshops such as UI/UX design. We learned how to use Flutter to build beautiful apps.

What's next for FoodForAll

We are planning to integrate Google Maps into our app to quickly and accurately find out the nearest hotel which has enough quota to provide a meal and also prompt and suggest users to donate when they visit a hotel.
