Atlas - AI-Powered Project Management

Inspiration

Project management tools take too much time to set up and maintain. We wanted the benefits of organized project management without the manual work of creating tasks and estimating complexity. AI can do this grunt work for us.

What it does

Atlas turns project ideas into organized task lists through AI conversation. You describe your project, answer a few questions from Claude AI, and get a complete task breakdown with story points. Tasks are managed in a simple and intuitive list.

How we built it

• Flutter for iOS/Android mobile app
• Supabase for authentication and database
• Claude API for AI conversation and task generation
• Supabase Edge Functions to secure API keys

Challenges we ran into

• Getting Flutter working across different development environments
• Learning Supabase authentication and database patterns
• Implementing magic link authentication with mobile deep linking
• Securing API keys since Flutter apps are client-side

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• AI conversation that generates well-structured task breakdowns
• Successful team collaboration with different members working on different parts
• Finishing MVP by 9am and polishing features the rest of the hackathon
• Completed most of our V2 project by 3PM
• Integrated full CICD pipeline with GitHub actions and our own servers
• Integration with Stripe API for subscriptions

What we learned

• Long-term time savings can be achieved through project planning.
• Flutter's cross-platform capabilities are powerful but require thorough testing
• Client-side apps and websites need backend proxies to protect API credentials
• Structured AI tool calling creates more reliable user experiences
• Simplicity in design and code makes projects better
