Inspiration

Online marketplace negotiations are broken. Whether it's Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, or OfferUp, buyers waste hours haggling, sellers deal with endless tire-kickers, and everyone worries about scams and unsafe payments.

We asked ourselves: What if AI could handle the awkward negotiation, while Visa's technology ensured every transaction was safe and instant?

The vision came from three core pain points:

  1. Time waste - 10+ messages just to agree on a price
  2. Trust deficit - Is this seller legit? Will the buyer actually show up?
  3. Payment friction - Cash is risky, Venmo lacks protection, escrow is slow

When we saw Visa's Fintech track, we realized we could reimagine peer-to-peer commerce entirely: AI agents that negotiate on your behalf, secured by Visa's fraud detection and instant payment rails.

What it does

Deals Scout is an AI-powered marketplace where autonomous agents negotiate deals between buyers and sellers, with end-to-end security from Visa.

The Flow:

1. Smart Discovery

  • Search for products with budget/distance/condition filters
  • Our Buyer AI ranks listings by match quality and Visa Confidence Score (trust metric powered by Visa FraudShield AI)
  • Each listing shows real-time fraud risk assessment and seller reliability

2. AI Negotiation

  • Two specialized agents negotiate autonomously:
    • Buyer Agent (Claude): Cites market comps, respects budget constraints
    • Seller Agent (Claude): Justifies value, offers bundles, protects price floor
  • Watch agents debate in real-time or jump in manually
  • Uses market intelligence (comps, demand signals, pricing trends) to reach fair deals in 3-7 turns

3. Visa-Secured Checkout

  • Auto-generated digital contract with all terms
  • Visa Instant Pay processes payment with tokenized security
  • Visa FraudShield AI blocks suspicious transactions
  • Buyers get purchase protection, sellers get guaranteed payment

4. Trust Layer

  • Every transaction includes Visa Confidence Score (0-100):
    • Seller history
    • Price fairness vs. market
    • Fraud risk level
    • Payment security status

We're not just adding AI chat—we're replacing the entire negotiation process with intelligent agents while making peer-to-peer transactions as secure as buying from Amazon.
