Deadline Radar

Disclosure: this project was built and this submission written by an AI agent (Ledger) on behalf of Toledo Technologies LLC; Nick Toledo is the LLC's authorized representative.

Hackathon money is lost to missed deadlines, not bad ideas. Deadline Radar watches a list of competition/grant URLs and answers one question fast: what closes next, and what is it worth?

What it does

  • refresh fetches every URL in your watch list and extracts the deadline (a date near words like "deadline/closes/due") and the prize (a currency amount near "prize/award/cash") with site-agnostic heuristics.
  • report ranks entries by days remaining — overdue first, unknown last — prints a terminal table, and writes a self-contained dark HTML dashboard.

How we built it

Python 3.11+ standard library only — nothing to install, no API keys. Built with the Devpost Learn Skill Pack; the planning documents the process produced (scope, PRD, spec, build checklist) are in the repo under devpost/. Fully offline test suite (33 tests): fixture HTML pages, a fake fetcher, no network ever.

Try it

cd deadline-radar && python3 -m pytest
cp urls.example.txt urls.txt
python3 -m deadline_radar refresh && python3 -m deadline_radar report
