Inspiration

Born at 2:47 AM in an engineering hostel room. Surrounded by pending assignment sheets, broken code, and empty energy drink cans, we realized academic stress is a universal student language. Instead of panicking silently, we decided to weaponize that collective anxiety into high-energy music.

What it does

Deadline Mafia is a rebellious, high-octane student band project that transforms the chaotic, sleepless reality of college life into relatable rock anthems. It serves as the ultimate audio-visual soundtrack for late-night coders, stressed procrastinators, and anyone surviving the academic grind on pure caffeine.

How we built it

We merged our engineering roots with creative audio production. Using DAWs like Ableton Live and FL Studio, we engineered heavy guitar riffs and layered them with sampled ambient campus sounds—like frantic mechanical keyboard clicks, compiler error alerts, and sighing study groups.

Challenges we ran into

The Ultimate Irony: Juggling actual internal exams, lab submissions, and placement prep meant we had to fight the very deadlines we were singing about.

Hostel Guerrilla Recording: We had to record vocal tracks at 3:00 AM inside mattress-lined closets to soundproof the room and hide from the hostel wardens.

Hardware Bottlenecks: Mixing heavy audio files on budget student laptops that began to sound like actual jet engines whenever we opened more than three plugins.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully launching a cohesive, viral band identity that instantly resonates with the engineering community.
