Inspiration Student deadlines can feel overwhelming. We wanted to turn that stress into one clear next step, with a Halloween twist.
What it does Deadline Cemetery turns assignment briefs into reviewed tasks, plans work around available study time, tracks blockers and keeps submission separate from completion.
How we built it React, Vite, Node.js and Express, with local JSON storage. SVG and CSS bring the graveyard to life. Extraction and scheduling use local rules, not AI.
Challenges we ran into Sharing limited time across assignments, handling unfinished work, and making sure planned task dates never override submission deadlines.
Accomplishments that we're proud of A working planner with study sessions, a 14-day forecast and source-linked tasks. Verified with 22 backend tests and 20 desktop/mobile browser tests.
What we learned Useful planning needs honest estimates, clear rules and simple actions—not just more features.
What's next for Deadline Cemetery Test with students, improve scheduling and extraction, and prepare a secure public version
