Inspiration
To help healthcare professionals and trainees make accurate diagnostic decisions.
What it does
Our algorithm analyzes patient laboratory data from their electronic health record to create a weighted differential diagnosis of possible diseases. This aids to physician which additional tests or interventions should be done first to save time and cut costs. It also can be a helpful tool for resident trainees who do not have as much experience diagnosing complicated patients.
How we built it
Our group consisted of 4 individuals split into two pairs. The first pair designed an algorithm with C++ that analyzes patient laboratory data to give the percentage likelihood of having possible renal diseases. The second pair constructed a website platform to display the differential diagnosis output of the algorithm in a visual friendly manner.
Challenges we ran into
Learning to use Express and JavaScript. There was a steep learning curve as we struggled in our initial attempt to launch an online platform. After troubleshooting and correcting the issue we decided to create our own local server using Express for visual simplicity.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
we learned so much about everything!
What we learned
express, algorithms, friendships
