It all started with a friend of mine, who will always loses her keys. So I think about DayLock, a new system that allows you to enter your home, office, car, or even more places just with your face and some preloaded patterns that responds to your hands so you could finally get over your keys and let them at home. We built it with OpenCV that allows us to recognize our faces to grants us access, and the program runs with the technology of python, then the info goes to a html page and the leap-motion to check over the patterns that you created. During this hackathon we ran through several challenges due the different APIs designed for face recognition, but almost we weren't capable of using them, every one of them, have great differences between each other, and that lead us to a lot of strange problems so we have to keep trying another API, 'till we find OpenCV that allowed us to do what we wanted to. During this time, we learned a lot about several APIs, and new technologies that are coming out to the market, and we were close to get them right, we know that it'll only take time 'till we're capable of make use of them. We're planning for DayLock to expand, we don't want it to stay in this hackathon, either outcome of this event, we'll be pulling all the strings to make this project a reality for the people and bring them a little more security to their lives.
