What is Dayflow?

Dayflow is a smart daily planning app designed around one simple idea:

Your schedule shouldn't fall apart just because one thing changes.

Traditional to do lists give you a static list of tasks. But real life isn't static. Meetings move, tasks take longer, plans change, and suddenly the rest of your day needs to be reorganized.

Dayflow creates a structured daily flow and helps adapt the remaining schedule when plans change.

The Problem

Most productivity apps help you create a schedule, but they don't help much when that schedule changes.

If a meeting moves from 4 PM to 5 PM, users often have to manually figure out what happens to everything afterward.

That creates friction and decision fatigue.

Our Solution

Dayflow introduces Adaptive Replanning.

Instead of treating your schedule as fixed, Dayflow treats it as a flow that can adapt.

For example:

4 PM meeting → moved to 5 PM

Dayflow can reorganize the remaining schedule, shift affected tasks, and provide a new flow for the rest of the day.

How We Built It

Dayflow was built with Flutter and Dart, using Flutter's built-in Material 3 components, animation APIs, responsive layouts, and a modular architecture.

The current MVP uses local simulated AI planning to demonstrate the adaptive scheduling experience without requiring external cloud AI services.

This allowed us to focus on the product experience and demonstrate how adaptive planning could work.

What We Learned

One of the biggest lessons from building Dayflow was that productivity isn't only about creating a plan.

A useful planner also needs to handle change.

We focused on designing the experience around what happens after a plan is created when real life inevitably changes it.

Challenges

The biggest challenge was creating an adaptive scheduling experience that feels simple to the user while still representing the complexity of reorganizing multiple tasks.

We also focused heavily on making the interface feel smooth and premium while keeping the application lightweight.
