Dawn of the Flu

Dawn of the Flu asks the question, "what if you can survive a zombie bite with a flu shot?" While this is purely speculative, this application engages the user through the power of zombies, and even more zombies.Similar to the CDC's release of the Zombie Apocalypse survival guide, Dawn of the Flu aims to be a fun and interactive way to raise awareness and educate the public on influenza.Features of Dawn of the Flu include an interactive map to display Influenza Vaccination Estimates for each state in November 2010. Vaccine coverage percentages are separated into 3 categories ranging from the least covered state to the greatest covered state. Tying in the zombie theme, states with the highest coverage percentages are depicted as being survivors as they will be immune to zombie bites. Meanwhile, lower percentage states are shown unfavorably with a potential zombie apocalypse occurring in the near future.Additional facts and resources from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are also detailed. Ways to prevent the flu, podcasts, and local information can all be found through Dawn of the Flu.Please help spread influenza awareness with Dawn of the Flu.
