Dataturf is an online tool that helps people compare different addresses and their neighborhoods when searching for a place to live. Dataturf gives each address a score based on the proximity and density of attractions that surround it, such as tennis courts, sidewalk cafes, and subway stops (just to name a few). The scores are completely user-customizable; if a user wants to live close to laundromats, dataturf will assign a heavier weighting to laundromats, and thus give locations close to laundromats a higher rating compared to other locations. In addition to assigning scores to living locations, dataturf.com also provides an easy-to-use map-based interface to explore the surroundings of each location. When the user enters an address, the closest living attractions from each category are shown in both a text format and graphically on the map. Google-generated walking directions are also available.
