Inspiration

Planning outdoor events, trips, or activities often means taking a gamble with the weather. Most apps only forecast a week or two ahead, but what if you need to plan months in advance? Inspired by NASA’s wealth of Earth observation data, we wanted to give people a tool that shows the odds of experiencing certain conditions—like extreme heat, rain, or high winds—on any day of the year.

What it does

DataSky is an Weather web app Prototype to see the probabilities of “very hot,” “very cold,” “very wet,” “very windy,” or “very uncomfortable” weather conditions. It visualizes NASA’s historical climate data in graphs and summaries, so users can understand weather likelihoods rather than short-term forecasts.

Future:

Expand variables to include air quality, dust storms, and heat index. Add personalized comfort scores combining multiple factors (temp + humidity + wind). Integrate climate trend analysis to show how risks are changing over decades. Launch a mobile version for travelers, hikers, and event planners. Collaborate with educators or tourism boards to bring climate awareness to wider audiences.

Speciality: Build it with Plotly with only Single Detailed Prompt
