How we built it
DataHalo builds public intelligence profiles for journalists using only publicly available data. Features: Halo Score™ – transparency + influence fingerprint Work Pattern Analysis – topics, tone, controversies Narrative Analyzer – how stories evolve & which outlets amplify them AI Perspective Summaries – UPSC, finance, student, general public Journalist Gallery – searchable profiles of 50+ journalists
Challenges we ran into
FastAPI backend → async scrapers → NLP pipelines → React animated dashboard. We built an end-to-end pipeline: fetch → clean → analyze → generate Halo profile → display.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Scraping reliability, handling bias responsibly, standardizing journalist data, and building a full intelligence pipeline fast.
