Inspiration

Modern organizations manage large amounts of data across different platforms and datasets. This can make it difficult to identify sensitive information, monitor data quality, and track security and compliance risks.

We built DataGuardian AI to bring these important data-governance activities into one clear and centralized dashboard.

What it does

DataGuardian AI is an AI-powered data governance and security platform.

It helps organizations:

  • Monitor datasets and data quality
  • Detect potential sensitive PII risks
  • Track compliance and risk levels
  • View active data catalog streams
  • Monitor governance activity
  • Review audit timelines
  • Analyze enterprise data through executive analytics
  • Receive AI-powered risk insights and predictions
  • Identify high-risk datasets from a unified dashboard

How we built it

We designed DataGuardian AI around an enterprise dashboard that brings data governance, security, compliance, and analytics into one interface.

The dashboard includes dataset monitoring, data-quality indicators, compliance badges, risk levels, catalog streams, audit information, and an AI Insights & Predictive Engine.

We focused on making the interface easy to understand so that users can quickly identify important risks and understand the state of their data environment.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was presenting complex data-governance information in a simple and understandable way.

We also had to think carefully about how to organize dataset information, risk levels, compliance indicators, analytics, and AI insights without overwhelming the user.

Creating a consistent dashboard experience while keeping important security information visible was another challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of creating a complete enterprise-style dashboard that combines data governance, security monitoring, compliance tracking, analytics, and AI-powered insights.

We are especially proud of the AI risk detection experience, dataset catalog interface, compliance indicators, and centralized dashboard design.

What we learned

This project helped us learn more about data governance, privacy and security concepts, risk visualization, dashboard UX, and AI-assisted workflows.

We also learned that presenting security information clearly is just as important as detecting the underlying problem.

What's next for DataGuardian AI

Next, we want to expand DataGuardian AI with more data-source integrations, advanced AI recommendations, automated compliance workflows, customizable reports, role-based access control, automated remediation, and deeper security analytics.

Our goal is to make DataGuardian AI a more comprehensive platform for organizations that need better visibility and control over their data.
