Inspiration

The inspiration stems from a deep commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion by leveling the financial playing field for all individuals and communities. By giving people the opportunity to compare prices we are creating equality so that anyone can make financial decisions regardless of their background.

What it does

It takes in the name and price of an item and returns several cheaper alternatives at local grocers

How we built it

We built the web app using html and flask for frontend, and python for the backend. Our greatest implementation was of OpenAI's API

Challenges we ran into

It was difficult to implement Auth0 into our web app, and we had issues parsing JSON at some times. One issues that we faced was creating a Database that properly worked.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating a financial chatbot
Taking inputs of items and utilizing OpenAI API to provide alternatives.
Provide a summary of alternatives that allows the user to see how much money they save. ## What we learned How to effectively time manage, along with the importance of spending more time on planning the project out. ## What's next for DataFi We aim to create a mobile app that allows users to scan the barcode of item, instead of manually inputting names, in order to create a more seamless experience.
