Inspiration
I am a cybersecurity undergraduate , and have a keep interest in data protection and privacy.I wanted to do something people will know more about the protection of their data in public websites.
What it does
The user can input the website, date, data shared,email of the website and the time the data is required by the public websites. If the time is exceeding then DataDawn will count the days and send an email to the website to delete their data.
How we built it
The page was build using html and css. Local storage is used to store the information.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge were to improve the count down and incorporating email to be sent.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud of the way the page turned into. Though I asked help online had references etc, I am proud to see it work
What we learned
I learned about the data protection laws, GDPR. Importance of data that people are ignorant of.
What's next for DataDawn
DataDawn can be deployed, but has to improve in terms of storage and other factors.
