What it does

  • Literally is a Street Fighter Clone Made with the Freeware MUGEN, and all of the characters were supposed to be of an inspiration.

How we built it

  • We imported character models, modified their abilities and the sort in terms of gameplay, and we physically changed them, for the better.

Challenges we ran into

  • Each Character has around 1700 separate frames/sprites, and we only were able to do 300 for one character.
  • The platforms were completely foreign to me since I found out about them maybe a week before the hackathon, and this was my first attempt at modifying and making my own game with it.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • I think it works great
  • My partner thinks it works great
  • We both agree that it's fun and entertaining to especially just watch AI go at it.

What we learned

  • Art is a hard business for 2D games
  • Making games are fun when you watch your ideas come to life.

What's next for Darttfight (M.U.G.E.N. mod)

  • We should start from scratch and use 3D Models, so this time we don't have to have sprites for each frame. In addition, we should use Unity or other gaming platforms to create our game, since we'll have more freedom to code with.

  • If the game doesn't load with the drive link, an admin of Menlohacks (Tommy Yang) has a flashdrive with the game.
