DarkWhisper – The AI Horror Chatbot

Inspiration The idea came from a single thought — “What if a chatbot could trap you in its own dark world and make you part of the story?” I wanted to blend artificial intelligence with emotion and horror storytelling to create a unique, immersive experience that reacts to the user’s choices.

What it does DarkWhisper – The AI Horror Chatbot lets users talk to a devil-like AI that responds based on their emotions and words. The chatbot dynamically switches between 7 different scenes, creating a cinematic storytelling experience that evolves as the user chats.

How we built it Frontend: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the interactive dark-themed chat UI. Backend: Flask (Python) for managing user sessions, dialogue flow, and scene switching. AI Engine: DialoGPT from Hugging Face for generating realistic and emotional replies. Story Logic: Flask sessions track user choices to determine which of the 7 scenes should appear next.

Challenges we ran into Maintaining story consistency while using unpredictable AI responses. Handling multiple user states and transitions between the 7 scenes. Balancing creativity, emotion, and logic within the horror theme.

Accomplishments that we're proud of Built a multi-scene AI horror experience that reacts in real time. Created emotion-based dialogue flow with mood changes (angry, calm, serious). Successfully merged AI, storytelling, and web technologies.

What we learned How to combine AI with story design and real-time interactivity. Managing session-based story logic in Flask. Enhancing engagement with dynamic scene visuals.

What's next for DarkWhisper – The AI Horror Chatbot Implementing AI-generated images and videos that match the live chat story. Adding voice narration for the devil’s responses. Expanding the story with new paths and endings. Turning it into a complete web-based horror game powered by AI.
