Inspiration
DarkShield was developed from the dire need to urgently protect our children, little nephews and nieces from dangerous materials online or offline when we're not watching them. Bad actors on the internet show horrific ads to kids when they're playing games or just exploring our phones. We adults also leave adult contents on phones that are not meant for children who are always trying to play with our smartphones.
What it does
DarkShield is a smart Artificial Intelligence software protecting Children online or offline from Pornography, Cyber-bullying, Illicit drugs, Cyber Predators, Offensive Ads & Phishing Scams.
How I built it
DarkShield was built with Java, OpenCV, TensorFlow, Python and Flutter.
Challenges I ran into
It was very difficult to monitor the entire apps for illicit contents and block them.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We can finally keep our Children safe from Pornography, Cyber-bullying, Illicit drugs, Cyber Predators, Offensive Ads & Phishing Scams on mobile. We don't have to explain those horrifying experiences to children anymore.
What I learned
Its very imperative to keep our children safe in this digital world and how daunting it is to create a technology that works a 100%
What's next for DarkShield
We plan to make DarkShield App (IOS & Android) available as open beta soon. We also plan to develop DarkShield for MAC, Windows and Linux.
