I initially envisioned the series as live action, but as Japanese anime’s popularity has grown in the United States, I saw its potential as an American adult animated drama.
And with the emergence of generative AI, I think creating ambitious, large-scale IP—once cost-prohibitive for small teams and solo creators—is now economically viable. So, I have been experimenting with creating the show via hybrid traditional and AI workflows.
