Inspiration

Building a platform that helps all pilgrims, solves major hajj problems, and becomes a game changer in the Hajj experience.

What it does

It enables every pilgrim to ask questions to Hajj community (targeted audience by language). Pilgrim user can join groups of agencies (Hamlat) to view the stream of news and announcements, alerts, schedules, and calendars. The app will also send smart notifications and alerts to all users. There will be a timeline for government smart announcements. The app also enables members to form groups under every agency (Hamlat) to chat, locate members on maps, and stay connected. Users can also pin point flags on maps with pictures of any incidents or important comments which can be viewed by any user to avoid crowds, and to allow government to locate such incidents.

How we built it

We used backend to support the application features, and we used ASP.NET core technology and Firebase technology and used Google Translation API.

Real time communication between pilgrims and support translation out of the box, also groups managements and tracking.

What we learned

What's next for DarbHajj

Adding more features such as 1) enabling pilgrims, who do not have mobile phones, to ask questions easily through tablet stands located in Hajj areas with simple design. This service is connected to Help feature in the app. 2) enabling any user to go to smart suggested destinations
