Energy monitoring

I used DAQFactory (similar to LabView, but much less expensive and more customization) to connect MODBUS TCP enabled hardware that measures power to a 144,000 sq ft office building. The challenge that most buildings have is understanding cause and effect when tuning a building for energy consumption. Without near real time energy monitoring, any changes made to HVAC or other electrical systems can only be determined by the power bill, some 30 days or so later.

Inexpensive energy monitoring is a vital tool for any building operation.
