Inspiration
I were inspired by the game, Dance Dance Revolution
What it does
Play as Dan Cing and triumph the most dastardly choreographers in the world! Groovy tip: You don't have to press the key corresponding arrow when it touches the line. You can just hold the key; timing doesn't matter as long as you just press the key. (sorry DDR players)
How I built it
I used the Unity game engine to make this game. I had a spawner that would spawn arrows at certain times, and at certain rates depending on the song you chose. The arrows are always constantly moving down at a given speed, which is declared by the function, and a there was a box collider that represented the area that the arrows had to be pressed. The character changes his sprite depending on which set of keys you are pressing, and th ehealth bar and are slider UI elements.
Challenges I ran into
The biggest challenge was trying to get the arrows spawned at certain times and rates. This required a lot of play testing for everything to work.
What I learned
I learned how to spawn elements, use Coronatines, and make animations in Unity
