Inspiration
I have worked years on developing this platform: https://damremoval.eu Which has caused Dam Removal in European rivers to be a viable option and we have support from organisations all over Europe like WWF, The Rivers Trust, The Nature Conservancy, the European Rivers Network, Rewilding Europe and Wetlands International.
The only issue this platform faces is that it does not give people an easy way to help, to directly support. That is why I decided to built this store as a way for people to see which barriers are up for removal and to help.
What it does
This platform gives an e-commerce feel to dam removal funding. Making it a quick and easy way to both raise awareness on Dam Removal and to give people the power to also have an impact.
Had to stop myself from not keeping to add new functions, haha.
How we built it
I've used Dam Removal Europe as a design inspiration, working with the same colours and some images. The rest is all Bolt with Stripe implementation and Supabase integration.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest issue has been to connect Stripe as a functioning system for payment since it is in an e-commerce environment. Another issue was the lack of in-depth information which had to be added each time but Bolt did a good job filling the gaps!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Working checkout system, voice agent and a clean overall feel.
What we learned
Stripe implementation, Supabase, Bolt's ability to generate in-depth information and FAQ sections. Also the possibility to setup and test out a bold idea.
What's next for Dam(n) store
I am going to present this demo to NGO's in Europe to show that we can set up a system like this in a short time without having to invest a lot of money. It still needs to prove its worth but Bolt has been essential in the first steps. I want to launch it per country in Europe and see how it's improving over time and actually remove some dams!
