Meet DAISY.

A short horror film by legendary Netflix director Peter Thorwarth and AI innovator Sebastian Ungrad — with visuals generated entirely by AI.

You’ve seen AI shorts before. But DAISY is different.

1. Filmmaking first, AI second. We didn’t just string together cool clips. We built DAISY like any film: script, storyboard, casting, staging, editing. Every shot serves the directors’ vision and the actors’ performances.

2. Consistency that tells a story. We fought for continuity — of characters, sets, and emotion. It’s not flawless, but when choices had to be made, we prioritized what mattered: character fidelity, scene coherence, or raw feeling.

3. A process, not a demo. No single tool could carry this. We mixed open- and closed-source systems, including Storybook’s own custom models, picking the right tool for each shot. The goal wasn’t to show off tech — it was to tell a story.

4. An experiment with real stakes. We produced DAISY twice in parallel, testing two different pipelines. Both versions were screened in a cinema (2K and 4K projection) before live audiences. We didn’t just create — we gathered data, feedback, and insight.

We are Storybook Studios — an AI-driven production company. Our mission: push filmmaking forward. Next up, we’re building a workflow where actors remain at the center, delivering real performances in controlled environments. Everything else — sets, worlds, creatures, costumes — is born from AI.

We’re not here to replace the craft. We’re here to supercharge it — to give small teams the power to dream at blockbuster scale.

If we’ve done our job, you won’t stop to wonder how DAISY was made. And for us — this is only the opening scene.
