As college students living somewhat off-campus, we were inspired to pursue the Health and Wellness track in this competition because of the obstacles we have had to face and overcome. Challenges like figuring out what to eat every day, staying active, and keeping our mental health in check are just the start of what we wanted to try to find solutions to with our prototype. We are a beginner team, and we had never even heard of Figma before this competition, but we have learned an incredible amount about design in such a short time frame. We began by brainstorming the challenges we wanted to solve and mapping out what we wanted the app to look like. Bouncing ideas off of one another and building upon thoughts resulted in a multitude of ideas that we eventually had to narrow down in order to get it all done within the time constraint. However, by working together and communicating effectively, we were able to create a prototype that we (a biomedical engineer and a civil engineer with no UI/UX background at all) are proud of.
