Inspiration

Mental health is an important part of overall well-being, but many people struggle to track their emotions daily. I wanted to build a simple tool that helps people understand their mood patterns.

What it does

Daily Mood Tracker allows users to log their emotions, reflect on their daily mood, and visualize changes over time. This helps them recognize triggers, manage stress, and improve self-awareness.

How we built it

I used v0.dev to quickly generate the base project and hosted it on Vercel. The app was designed with React and TailwindCSS for a clean UI. Data storage was set up using a simple backend/database for tracking moods.

Challenges we ran into

  • Setting up the UI to be simple but effective.
  • Debugging state management in React.
  • Making sure the project deployed correctly on Vercel.

Accomplishments that we’re proud of

  • Completing a functional mood tracking app within the hackathon timeframe.
  • Learning to use new tools like v0.dev effectively.
  • Deploying a working project online for others to try.

What we learned

  • How to design an intuitive user experience.
  • Quick prototyping with AI-assisted tools.
  • The importance of mental health tools for daily use.

What’s next for Daily Mood Tracker

  • Adding analytics and mood trend charts.
  • Providing reminders/notifications for daily check-ins.
  • Enabling data export or integration with other wellness apps.
