AI Daily Journal is an intelligent journaling companion built for Maestro Hackathon 2025. Inspired by the fact that 73% of people want to journal but quit because it feels like extra work, we created a tool that makes reflection effortless and genuinely helpful.

Our app uses AI to analyze thoughts, detect emotions, and generate personalized reflections, turning raw entries into meaningful insights. Users can speak or type their thoughts, and the system provides a summary, emotional analysis, and an encouraging response based on one of four AI personalities: Motivational, Gentle, Analytical, or Wise.

Key features include voice input, mood tracking with visual analytics, smart prompts to fight writer’s block, and a modern dark UI with smooth animations. Privacy is central, with local storage and optional sync.

We built it with Next.js, FastAPI, Maestro SDK, and SQLite, deploying on Vercel with serverless architecture. The AI pipeline covers text analysis, emotion detection, summarization, and reflection generation.

The impact is clear: AI Daily Journal helps users build emotional intelligence, reduce stress, and create healthy journaling habits—like having a supportive AI friend in your pocket.
