The inspiration behind Daily Jigsaw Puzzle was to create a simple yet engaging daily ritual that combines art, relaxation, and achievement. By offering fresh puzzles every day with streaks and rewards, the goal is to encourage consistent interaction and provide a calming, gamified experience for puzzle lovers and casual Reddit users alike.

What it does

Daily Jigsaw Puzzle delivers five new puzzles every day as part of a daily challenge system. Users can complete puzzles, maintain streaks, unlock achievements, and earn rewards for consistent participation, turning puzzle-solving into a habit-forming daily experience

How we built it

We built the experience as a Reddit-integrated application within the r/artjigsawpuzzle_dev community, leveraging Reddit’s developer platform and app ecosystem to host daily challenges, manage streak logic, and provide interactive gameplay directly inside the community environment.

Challenges we ran into

One of the key challenges was designing a system that remains engaging every day—ensuring puzzle variety, fair streak tracking, and meaningful rewards while keeping the interaction lightweight within the Reddit environment. Balancing simplicity with long-term motivation required careful iteration on daily rules and achievement mechanics.

What we learned

Through building Daily Jigsaw Puzzle, we learned that: Daily content cadence significantly increases engagement. Gamification (streaks, rewards, achievements) motivates repeat participation.
