Inspiration

We all need help at some point in our lives, especially elderly people. We were inspired to make this project because we wanted to help seniors to have a tool to find physical and mental health online, but also we wanted something that could be used by any person of any age.

What it does

Our all-in-one website uses real time chat communication to connect patients with generative AI medical assistance. DrAI help them find answers to any physical and mental health care questions when doctors are not available or when their needs are not great enough to go see a doctor. DrAI personalizes each answer according to the unique needs of each person. This is possible because our website stores the medical history of each patient in a secured data base.

How we built it

A real time chat communication is used to create a link between the patient, a DB and Respell. The core of our project is powered by Respell, which uses chatGPT to help patients find important information online using generative AI. Patient information is stored in an AWS database to have a record of medical history and help the AI produce better solutions for the patient.

Challenges we ran into

One of the challenges we had was to learn how to use Respell correctly. We spent a significant amount of time practicing spells until we were comfortable using the tool for our project. Another challenge was learning the different programming languages and tools (such as firebase, html, css, javascript...) used to create the project's database and its website. The most challenging part for us was to figure out how to connect everything together using API's.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we worked hard and learned new tools to implement an AI and linked it to a database and a real time chat website. It is the first time we have done something like this.

What we learned

We learned how to use unfamiliar tools that were necessary to execute our idea such as css, html, AWS, javascript, python, firebase, and Respell.

What's next for DrAI

The next steps for DrAI will be to optimize the AI generative prompts. After that, more features will be added to it, such as a functionality that helps diabetic patients find the best meals for their diet according to their blood sugar levels at that moment, and a functionality that keeps track of the medications of each patient.
