About the Project
Inspiration
I love solving word puzzles, and I’ve been playing search-style games with my brother and cousin every day for a while now. It’s fun, keeps our brains active, and helps us stay connected even when we’re apart. That experience inspired me to create Daily Grid.
What I Learned
- Designing hidden word themes that are both tricky and fair
- Balancing grid difficulty so it feels rewarding, not overwhelming
- Writing clear instructions and thinking about user experience
How I Built It
The game was built as a word search app where players must uncover all the theme words hidden in a letter grid. I focused on simple design and intuitive interactions:
- Generate a grid of letters with hidden theme words
- Let players drag across tiles to form words
- Provide feedback when words are correct and highlight progress
Challenges
- Creating grids that hide words naturally without being too obvious
- Building the level-creation interface for users was pretty challenging.
- Balancing difficulty so the hidden “main word” feels satisfying to find
The grid only works when every tile is used — making each puzzle a complete and rewarding challenge!
