Inspiration
It's rough seeing all the numbers of deaths and people contracting COVID everyday. We thought it would be better to see the numbers of people getting vaccinated. This would show everyone we are getting closer to our goal of a normal life style again.
What it does
Lets us see visually how many people were vaccinated.
How we built it
We used python and pandas to get all the information in and used Streamlit to create the website.
Challenges we ran into
Streamlit is fairly new, being released in 2019 there wasn't a lot of documentation for us to go over. We ran to a lot of trouble of setting up our environment and getting things to work in
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Transitioning to Streamlit and being able to get some graphs working.
What we learned
We have one member that's completely new to datascience so we all got to enjoy the workshops together. Streamlit was definitely new to all of us so it was nice to get that up and running. We also got a bit more familiar in github since we haven't used it too much before.
What's next for Daily Covid Vaccinations
On our free time after class and assignments, we plan on exploring Streamlit more and continuing our Daily COVID Vaccination project. There are some things to expand on like implementing a button to choose a specific date to look at etc.
