Inspiration
We both have used a bullet journal in the past, and while we have enjoyed our experiences, we also found it troublesome and inconvenient at times. A digital app bypasses these issues and allows for a more fluid experience. We also included an incentive that has worked for us.
What it does
Daily Cat tracks user's habits on water, meals, mood, and spending. Once the user has input these data, the state of the cat and its room changes to match the healthiness of the user's habits. The user can look back on previous weeks and reflect in the journal provided.
How we built it
Alexis designed the app along with drawing the different states of the cat and its room. Sally coded the app with Swift and Xcode.
Challenges we ran into
We ran out of time, which meant we still have a handful of errors to deal with and eventually had to hard-code some of the features. Among these features were the Edit button and the progress bar for the budget.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We built an app with a 1-designer, 1-programmer team :)
What we learned
It takes more than 24 hours to build an app...
What's next for Daily Cat
Fix the errors: "Edit" button, progress bar More themes: cat, dog, etc.
